Fishylake is a family run carp fishing venue in France which caters for disabled and able bodied people alike, having followed all the recommendations of the British Disability Angling Association.

The fishery is also environmentally friendly. We use solar panels for electricity and we have a specially adapted toilet which is both environmentally and disabled friendly.


We are situated in the heart of the French countryside. Fishylake is around 3 acres with most banks treelined and is the perfect size for up to 4 anglers. It has variable depths of 3 to 7 feet and a firm bed with silt patches with a good variety of lillies in the quiet areas of the lake, where the fish can retreat to.

Forest Lake Carp Fishing offers the ideal carp fishing holiday in France for those hoping to catch big carp. The lake is available for exclusive hire from April to October. The venue, which is British run, can accommodate up to five anglers per week.

The lake contains a good head of carp to 40lb+, including a perfect 32lb linear carp. There's also catfish to around 60lb.

We only rent out the whole lake to one party at a time. This exclusive lake hire policy means that you and your party can indulge in a truly carefree carp fishing holiday.

Accommodation is at the bankside in bivvies, although a fisherman's cabin is also at your disposal to make your stay more comfortable. This includes a modern, english-style toilet and shower, plus a kitchen with fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle and the usual pots, pans and cutlery.

We are also able to provide bivvies and other pieces of bulky equipment if required, so you won't need to bring loads of baggage if you choose to 'Fly and Survive' by booking a cheap flight to Bergerac airport. We're less than an hour from Bergerac airport and can pick you up if you want.

If you prefer to 'Drive and Survive' and drive down with your own gear that's okay too. It takes around eight hours to reach us from Calais and around six hours from Le Havre or St Malo.

The lake is located in the midst of farmland at the heart of the Double Forest in the Dordogne region of South West France. This is a truly unspoilt area with abundant wildlife, including wild boar, deer and birds of prey. If you keep your eyes peeled, you may even spot the kingfishers that flash across the lake from time to time.

This is not a 'runs water' with lots of lengthy casting and bait boat action. It's just a small, tranquil, mature lake stocked with big carp and cats where, with a little luck, you may just catch your Personal Best.
