Hordle lakes is an attractive and well established carp fishery which offers superb fishing all year round.

Set in approximately eleven acres, the fishery comprises 7 individual, spring fed lakes with easy to fish from swims.

Parking is easy and walking is minimal. There is a separate kiddies pool available. The larger lakes have double figure Carp (some low30's) - other species include Bream, Tench, Perch, Rudd, Chub and Roach.

CASTAWAY LAKE 1
Price £120 per angler or £975 inclusive use

Castaway Lake 1 is 5 acres in size and is fed by a small stream. It has a wealth of features to challenge the angler, over hanging trees, lily pads and reed beds making it a complete fishing experience and a haven for carp and catfish.
Fishing is from one bank, where you will find comfortable and easily accessible swims. There are two double and one single, which are shingled to help prevent any mud being walked into your bivvy . These are set in amongst the trees and as we only have 5 anglers at a time each angler has plenty of lake to themselves and features to fish to.

When we opened this lake in 2003 we introduced a good stock of carp and catfish and additional
stock has been added each year since, so a typical weeks fishing should bring plenty of action. You have the chance of catching commons, mirrors and grass carp to 50lb and catfish in excess of 90lb
In the evening if the catfish are active you will hear them slapping their tails to start their feeding frenzy.
To give you even more variety and 'exotic' photos to show your friends, we also have Silver carp the largest weighed in at 60lbs when we introduced them into the lake 7 years ago and last year we stocked 2 of the rare mandarin catfish the largest weighing 80lbs,
The depths of the lake range from 3ft to 7ft, and the bottom is mainly silty with several gravel patches.

Facilities
Ready and waiting for when you arrive.
Bivvy erected at your swim.
Supplied in the bivvy you will find a bed chair, fishing chair, bivvy table.
There is also a mobile home which is available for the use of all anglers. This supplies you with toilet, separate shower room, fridge, hob, microwave and mains water and electric.
This has cooking utensils etc. There is also a bbq.
Please note that we do not supply sleeping bags, or any bed linen, towels etc. in the mobile home, so you will need to provide these for yourself.
The mobile home / car park are withing easy walking distance from each swim.

Location
Castaway Lake 1 is located on the outskirts of the tranquil village of Ajain, which is within walking distance from the lake and has small supermarket, café, bakers, post office and chemist.
The main town of Gueret is approx 10 minutes by car where you will find all the shops, banks, restaurants and Mc'Donalds etc .

CASTAWAY LAKE 2
Price £180 per angler £1160 inclusive use

If you enjoy wildlife, peace and quiet, then this is your dream lake. Photo's really cannot do this lake the justice it deserves, it has to be seen to realise the beauty of the lake. 11 acres in size and set in the beautiful French countryside nestled amongst fields and forest the only thing to keep you awake at night is the wildlife and the slapping of the catfish tails.
The birdsong during the day and the frog chorus in the night is spectacular. This truly is a place for you to unwindand relax. Privacy, peace and tranquillity interrupted by screaming runs are what
to expect when you book this lake for your holiday.

In 2009 we emptied the lake, took out all the smaller fish that we could and also cleared the bottom of the lake, cut tree roots, branches and had a tractor to clear some big rocks which were in the lake. We then stocked some more really big catfish and also 2 mandarins.

This is a very rich lake and the stock have been quietly growing bigger and bigger. The stock consists of common and mirror carp to 60lb along with catfish to just over 200lb. There are
also 2 mandarin catfish the largest 65lb.

The fishing is perfect, with no poisson chat or crayfish to bother you and no weed on either of our lakes

There are plenty of features to fish to on this lake, with overhanging trees on the far bank and the dam wall, and reed beds around the edge. The depths range from 3ft around the edge to the deepest areas around 12ft. The bottom of the lake is a sandy bottom with silt areas around the tree lines.

.We know that there are anglers who like to use their own equipment so if you prefer to bring and use your own bivvy etc then you can, or alternatively you can hire it all or some from us.

We have 8 purpose built swims on this lake along 2 banks, but only allow 7 anglers. There are 2 double swims and a treble swim with a spare single swim. All swims are within easy walking distance of the caravans and car park, and easily accessible for unloading your gear.


Facilities
For your comfort whilst fishing, we have put on site two 19ft caravans which provide you with flush toilet, separate shower, fridge, hob and oven, hot and cold water.
These caravans are for the use of all anglers on the lake
and are included in the price.

For hire
Bivvy, fishing chair, bed chair, bivvy table.
3 carp rods and bait runner reels, buzzers, pods landing net, unhooking mat, weighing scales and sling. 2 ring cooker with gas.
These can be hired as a package or as individual items.

Location
Although you feel that you are in the middle of nowhere, in fact only 5 minutes away by car you have the village of Jarnages where there is a bakers, small supermarket, bars and hotel/restaurant, or again the main town of Gueret is 15 minutes along the motorway by car and has a good range of shops, supermarkets, banks etc.
