Since our involvement with Aquatels the carp have flourished. At the start the ceiling weight seemed to be around 27/28lb. In 2006 the mirror known as cluster came out at 42lb 2oz, but unfortunately was found dead this year following spawning. Of the other target fish the sergeant common 38lb, the peach common 36lb, the blue ghostie 36lb and a new ghostie made it to just over 30lb which we have named Dave, the Drop Scale Linear came out 30lb 8oz and a new common has come through which made 30lb 2oz christened ‘shoulders’. The fish known as jays common came out this spring at 32lb and add to these a mirror that has never been to the bank, but is sometimes seen with the peach and is of equal size and another ghostie is often seen with the blue ghostie that is around the same size and there is also a bronze coloured ghostie we see around the small island that is in the 35lb bracket. The average size of the carp in Aquatels in the spring and autumn is well into 20lb's and only drops below this figure after spawning. We put this down to two factors. The first is we only control the weed where needed and do not obliterate it as some waters do and the second is bait. The carp in 'aqqies' like a bit of food and since we encouraged anglers to 'put a bit in' weights have rocketed. As we always keep large amounts of weed the carp can be often found in the margins and the majority of captures come within 30 yards of the edge.

Crow Green Fishery was born out of approx 16 acres of grazing land, just a field full of grass and no trees. In 1990 the land was purchased by the current owners, Jason & Karen Jopson. Jason a keen fisherman dreamed of having his very own fishing lake so that he could spend time fishing whenever he pleased.

St Georges is a 45 year old gravel pit which was virtually unfished until taken over by Still Water Leisure in 2001. Nine acres in size, it contains troughs, gulleys, bars and plateaux. In fact local angling legend and Anglers Mail contributer Bill Rushmer, who "guest" fished there for pike in the 1980's, described the lake bed as being "like the seven hills of Rome". Depths go down to 17 feet with an average depth of 8.
